What you should know about Indoor Games
Many times when we talk about games we concentrate on those that are played outdoors forgetting that there are those which are played indoors as well. It should not come as a surprise that this thought has never crossed many minds that many games are played indoors. Basketball, volleyball, chess, pool and even bowling.
A general term used for Carambole Billiards, this is the most popular game from the family of billiards (others include three-cushion billiards, pool, etc). It is believed to have its origins in France in the late 1700s. The carambole billiard game (most popular in the family) has a very simple objective- a point is scored (known as count) when the cue ball hits both the object balls in a single stroke. As soon as a preset number of points is reached the winner is decided. Other variations of billiards include limited-rail billiards, balkline billiards, cushion carom, three-cushion billiards, etc.
Basketball was invented by Dr. James Naismith as an activity to keep his students at gym active on a rainy day. The idea was to come up with a sport that wouldn’t be too rough yet would provide the right amount of physical exercise. Originally played with a soccer ball, the traditional brown ball (used exclusively for basketball) came into existence in the late 1950s (introduced by Tony Hinkle). Points are scored by putting the ball in the basket (two points) if it is in front of the three-point line else three-points are scored. Basketball, in western countries, is played at many levels including college and high-school level basketball.

Some of the greatest sportsmen and women have performed indoors. It should also not go without saying that some of the major titles and games watched by the who is who in the world have also been done indoors. One of the best examples is boxing. This is a sport that has introduced the world to many greats such as Mohammud Ali, Rocky, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson. Last year the world saw one of the most anticipated and most expensive boxing matches that is Floyd MayWeather versus Manny Pacquaio
Boxing is one of the most popular and celebrated sports as you know. It is the act of fighting with fists by using boxing gloves in a boxing ring. This sport makes the body and mind strong. It is the toughest sport in my opinion. Boxing has many benefits. It is a humbling experience and the boxers learn to face humility. This benefit helps in shocking ways. Boxing can be of use as a self defense if we end up in a dangerous situation. People having issues with their anger can channel it into something positive like boxing. Professional boxing has become a global phenomenon giving great opportunities to aspiring fighters. Boxers face tough situations. They endure inevitable pain with a strong attitude. I am always awed by their guts, strength, and endurance.
