Dave Barry's 'An Inconceivable Year' is a Hilarious and Important Read

Dave Barry's cover article in this weekend's Washington Post Magazine is a must read for his signature humor at its best as well as what the article repeatedly demonstrates about the state of today's media.

From Anna Nicole Smith to Paris Hilton and nearly everything and everyone in between, Barry's prose reminds us of the media's obsession (and therefore our obsession) with unrelenting coverage of celebrities and of celebrities-in-the-making.

The media would argue that this is the type of stuff their viewers/readers/listeners want while many of us would answer 'says who?"

Let's hope that many in the media made a collective New Year's resolution to get back to reporting on issues, people and events that really matter.
