Facts and figures are always interesting, but often the information that explains why information technology can make a difference stems from the comments builders share with us. For this year’s Builder IT Survey--our 2nd annual--the message from the comments is fairly clear:
Forty-two percent of our 549 respondents say IT is more important to them this year. And, the vast majority of those who say IT is a priority say their plan is to make the most of the ongoing downturn by streamlining their operations with information technology.
The builders in this group are on the right track. They think of their IT people less as a cost center, and more as their own personal efficiency experts.
