First Entry and Review of Panasonic Wireless Projector Technology

Introductory Posting

Well, since this is the introductory post on our blog I suppose some background information is in order. Since 1955 Nelson White Systems Inc. (NWS) has been an Audio Visual Systems Integrator. In a very real sense our company has morphed as media communications has grown and intertwined itself into the fabric of our daily lives.

In the beginning NWS distributed films to schools and sold 16 mm movie projectors. We continue that business today using the most current, and sometimes cutting edge, projection, display, and distribution hardware. In the larger sense, we make the world smaller.

The fascinating thing about our industry is the growth in applications as audio-visual technologies become more ubiquitous in our lives. We now provide custom applications for supporting virtually every form of communication venue. In addition, we are constantly adding new functionalities to our applications such as Streaming Video and Video Teleconferencing, remote management via IP and a litany of other technologies that provide additional value to our clients by simplifying the communications processes.

What can we say in this blog to engage you? It is our intention to provide case studies of projects we have completed, new product reviews, technology application ideas, industry commentary and generally all things audio-visual.

Panasonic Wireless Projection – Ready for Prime Time

Up until recently I always responded to questions regarding wireless content deliver to projectors with “why wire works all the time and wireless does not” Recently I worked with the Panasonic PT-F100NTU projector with the wireless management software. I was surprised by a few features in this impressive projector. First to use the wireless software one does not need to install the software on your PC – it can be run from either a CD or a USB memory stick. Eliminating the need to install software removes one of the barriers to the functionality of wireless projection technology. To connect to the projector simply launch the Wireless Manager and select the projector. Once connected the wireless content delivery functions seamlessly. Other features I found unique were the ability to connect multiple PC’s (up to 16) to multiple projectors enabling more collaborative meetings. Finally this software supports 30 frame-per-second video and audio played on a connected PC and does a respectable job (not DVD quality but perfect for imbedded video in a presentation)

Overall Panasonic has the best wireless application for delivery of content and remote management of their projectors. This wireless software is available on the PT-LB50NTU, PT-LB51NTU, PT-LB60NTU, and the PT-F100NTU. These models cover brightness range from 2000 to 3200 lumens on various models all XGA and the F100NTU also has a WXGA unit.

If you need a rock solid portable or install projector with wireless content delivery these Panasonic models set the standard.
