Pass the Popcorn - LifeBridge Health Hits the Big Screen

As moviegoers take their seats for this summer’s big blockbusters, they will get a sneak peek at upcoming movies and learn all about bike helmet safety. LifeBridge Health, the first health care systems in Baltimore to advertise at movie theaters, is unveiling the first advertisements for the new Brain and Spine Institute this summer.

“Local movie theaters are one of the avenues health care advertising has not yet ventured,” said Rudy Miller, vice president of Marketing and Community Relations at LifeBridge Health. “With this year’s summer movie season promising to bring in big crowds, LifeBridge Health thought this was an innovative way to reach a wide audience.”

Big screen successes such as “Superman Returns,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” Disney’s “Cars” and the much-anticipated sequel, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” drawing record crowds to the theaters this summer, LifeBridge Health hopes the increased attendance will help create buzz. “We looked at the movies scheduled to come out this summer and capitalized on the fact that people will be getting to the movies early to get a seat,” said Miller.

Created by Gary Mueller at BVK in Milwaukee in conjunction with the National Brain Injury Association, the 30-second advertisement features two kids, one with a helmet and one without, riding their bikes through a neighborhood. The ad demonstrates the importance of wearing a bike helmet, when the little boy without one falls off his bike.

“We thought bike helmet safety was a great message for both children and parents that may be attending the movies this summer,” added Miller.

The Brain and Spine Institute at LifeBridge Health advertisement will run in AMC and Regal movie theaters in Owings Mills, Hunt Valley, Bel Air, Columbia and Westminster from June 30 until September 7.

LifeBridge Health is a regional health organization that includes Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Northwest Hospital Center, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Jewish Convalescent & Nursing Home, and related subsidiaries and affiliates.
