Living with Grief: Pain Management at the End of Life

The
Hospice Foundation of America’s live-via-satellite teleconference will address
types of barriers (ethical, policy, psycho-spiritual, and educational) to
effective pain control that many people face at the end of life. The
teleconference will also discuss ways to eliminate or minimize these barriers
and provide strategies for assessing pain and managing the roles of physicians,
nurses, social workers, chaplains and clergy, hospice volunteers, pharmacists,
families and patients during this period of life. Pre-registration is required.
Seating is limited.

Thread Lift Procedures & Liposuction

Dean Kane, MD will discuss the thread lift procedure, a non-surgical,
non-invasive facelift procedure, which lifts the droopy areas of the brow,
cheeks, jowl and neck. Michael Cohen, MD will also be on hand to discussion
liposuction procedures.

Parent & Child Program: Handling Medical Emergencies
6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

This class teaches parents and children basic first aid for nosebleeds,
burns, falls, cuts, etc. The course also discusses the signs and symptoms of
choking, heart attack and stroke and how to respond. Parent/caregiver must
attend with child.

a basic understanding of terms commonly used in the field of medicine.

Solutions to Joint Pain and Stiffness

Tricia Duke, BA, RN, ONC, will discuss causes and diagnosis of pain,
as well as the latest treatments, nutritional supplements, injectable lubricants
and medications.
