New York gardeners wear waterproof garden clogs to protect their feet.
The problem with wearing everyday street shoes for gardening is that your feet get wet and you are likely to ruin your shoes. Special clogs and boots have been designed to wear while gardening and those shoes will protect your feet from the New York elements. There are two main types of gardening footwear; shoes or "clogs" and boots. The type of footwear you select will depend on the projects you have planned for your New York property. Gardening shoes and clogs are usually made of a waterproof material like rubber and are easy to slip on and off as needed. They often have a slip-resistant sole, are very durable and rinse clean with a water hose. A sturdy garden clog can prevent injury to your feet from branches, rose thorns, as well as from stray gardening tools. Boots are the second type of gardening footwear often worn by New Yorkers. While boots take a little more effort to put on and take off, they have the added benefit of protecting your feet and legs more. A further advantage of garden boots is that mud won’t seep in when working in deeper areas of dirt, and it is beneficial to purchase boots made from a waterproof material. Your gardening needs will determine what types of gardening clogs or boots to wear while you weed and clean your garden. The Lawn & Garden Yellow Pages will direct you to a company that sells garden clogs and boots in New York. |
