Gardening with Vines in Florida
Vines are enchanting when used selectively in the landscape. They
can cover a trellis, arbor, fence or mailbox. Flowering vines are
fragrant and will attract butterflies and hummingbirds, so they can
be used to bring wildlife into your garden.
Vines are particularly useful in small patio areas where their vertical growth draws the eye up. Little ground space is needed for them, making them an ideal choice for a small patio or garden area. When selecting a vine, consider its growth habit. Some vines grow very aggressively and can encroach into other plantings. Clematis, Carolina Jasmine, and Mandevilla are a few choices worthy of consideration. Click here to locate these and other vines available at a Florida lawn and garden center near you. |
