INTRODUCING fiberon® SANCTUARY DECKING
Beyond Composite Decking

New London, NC – Fiber Composites, a leading manufacturer of composite decking and railing, is launching a new line of residential decking boards that will change the way the contractor and the homeowner think about decking. Called fiberon® Sanctuary Decking, this new product is one of the most easy to install, durable, low maintenance and realistic looking composite decking boards on the market.

fiberon Sanctuary Decking takes the wood – and all its performance issues – out of the board and utilizes only the positive performance features of PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride). The board consists of a cellular PVC (or foamed PVC) core with no fiber fillers, which eliminates edge cracking, stain retention and water absorption. This core is surfaced with a durable, highly weatherable layer of a unique PVC alloy.   This alloy layer combines PVC and ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate), a material used to protect automobile bumpers and outside mirrors. The ASA additives resist fading, are more abrasion resistant than wood-plastic composites and create a cellulose free surface to the fiberon Sanctuary deck board.

Added to this is a proprietary coloring process that uses a blend of light and dark hues to create natural color variations found in real wood.  This process creates a surface quality that has already won industry wide accolades for the fiberon Tropics composite decking line.  For added realism, a photo-realistic embossing pattern, captured precisely from real hardwoods, is pressed into the surface resulting in a remarkably natural look and feel.

“We created a board that combines the durability and performance of a PVC with the exotic beauty of our tropics line,” says Doug Mancosh, President of Fiber Composites. “By adding the durable cap-stock and photo engraving, we think this board will be well received by contractor and homeowner alike.”

Contractor Advantages
fiberon Sanctuary Decking has as many advantages for contractors as for their customers. When installed with Phantom II™ Hidden Deck Fasteners, it requires 50 percent fewer fasteners than traditional decks, which means that contractors can build a deck up to 30 percent faster. This provides an immediate opportunity to substantially grow business and increase margins without adding staff.

In addition, fiberon Sanctuary composite decking boards have four unique features to help contractors reduce waste by up to 15 percent per job:

•      The grooved (GV) boards come in a variety of lengths so contractors will have to cut  fewer boards to fit, creating less scrap.
•      They are more dimensionally accurate, reducing the number of boards contractors will discard because of inaccuracies.
•      They are reversible with usable surfaces on both sides, so the contractor doesn’t have to worry about workers fastening down the wrong side; and
•      They provide subtle yet infinite color variation, eliminating color-matching problems when mixing different product batches.

The new fiberon Sanctuary Decking has a limited 20-year warranty. It is available in multi-chromatic Ipe and Driftwood, and mono-chromatic brown, tan and gray. Grooved boards (GV), which accept the Phantom Hidden Deck Fasteners, are manufactured in 12-, 16- and 20-foot lengths, while square edge boards come in a 20-foot length only.

The fiberon composite decking and railing product family is sold to professional contractors through a national network of distributors. To learn more, visit http://www.fiberondecking.com/.
