Spring Has Sprung...

Spring Has Sprung…

Welcome to Spring! And, that usually means that we are entering the Severe Weather season. As a result, major delays for air travel will become more common and widespread throughout the United States. The best ways to avoid being caught by most of these delays on a regular basis is to simply follow my favorite rule of thumb:

-When scheduling a flight to or from any of the airports east of the Mississippi River, it is always a good idea to schedule your flight so that you arrive into your destination before 3pm local time. This is in order to avoid those nasty afternoon and evening thunderstorms which are responsible for so many hours of delays during the vast majority of the days from March to October.

When thunderstorms break out around a major hub airport, the flight routes are sometimes so severely limited that an airport can be in lockdown for hours at a time. This isn’t something that might happen, but what is going to happen on regular basis as it always has. So, if you are flying to or from the Eastern U.S. between March and October, do it as early as possible and you will likely save yourself lots of time, heartache, and maybe even some money
