At Visual Data Systems, sometimes work is a day at the beach. In addition to their Columbia, MD office, they also have a branch in Nags Head, NC. According to Linda Kaczmarek, President, the 21 people working from these offices are the coolest thing about the company. For two consecutive years, Deloitte has selected Visual Data Systems as a Maryland Technology Fast50 winner. "It's extremely rewarding to receive recognition for our achievements and growth in the Technology arena," says Kaczmarek.
Though the company has many clients outside the region, they have been involved with the GBTC since 1999. Kaczmarek explains, "participation in the GBTC presents us with the opportunity to learn from other companies that offer similar services to ours. Since our clients and vertical market segment are national, we rarely compete on projects with the other members of GBTC, thus allowing us to gain a unique insight to the local market." As many members do, she highlights the Wine Tasting as a favorite program, because they provide a forum "to get exposure to other local technology businesses [that we rarely have an opportunity to network with.]"
