Black Boar Cues--- Love 'em or Hate 'em
It seems for players there is no in between. What most don’t understand is that by design there is not suppose to be. Black Boar cues from the onset were created with the professional in mind and designed to be very sharp and definitive. Tony believed there was a need to produce a cue that would deliver a distinctive effect with the even the slightest amount (1/16th”) of english. The idea was to give the player unencumbered control of the cue ball. The alternative would have been to make a softer, more forgiving cue, meaning english must be applied with greater emphasis. Tony says, “Well, if your stroke is a little crooked, or your eyes are less than perfect- you probably aren’t going to like a Black Boar cue. They are unforgiving and force you to be precise.” P.S. Tony also says, “The wrong tip on a Black Boar cue can make you nuts!” |
