Why Did My Post Get Rejected?

The human editor at 4Syndication offers two main benefits: all blog posts are safeguarded against going live with technical problems, and our readers will never be subjected to spam.

Here are a few common rejection messages and what you can do to fix them:

1. Broken Link – You will receive this message if your post is submitted with a link that doesn’t work. To fix, click “view” next to the rejected entry and test the links to find out which one isn’t working. Then go back to the list page and select “edit.” On this screen highlight the text to be used as a link anchor and select the link button  and retype the intended URL. Links directed to an e-mail addresses should read “mailto:name@domain.com”. Test the link once more and resubmit.

2. Non-Existent File – You will see this message if an image, video or audio file inserted into your post does not load correctly. Make sure that the uploaded file is not corrupted. Keep in mind that the single file limit is 6 MB and the total file limit per account is 16 MB. If this isn’t sufficient space to host your videos, you may want to consider posting clips hosted on YouTube or other streaming video sites by clicking the imbed video button in the editor and entering the URL where the clip is being hosted.

3. Character Not Rendering – This is a common error, caused by copy and paste from word processing programs (like Microsoft Word) that use special formatted characters. Left and right curling “smart” quote marks and m dashes are the most common. These characters are easily supported with HTML in the body of an article, but will render as a question mark in the title or description. A good rule of thumb is that if you can type something in a 4Syndication window from your keyboard it will be supported, but if cutting and pasting from a word processing you will want to preview the post before submitting. If your post is rejected, re-edit the post and delete the question mark and retype the intended character.

4. Spam – Blog spam is not permitted into the 4Syndication system, and the editor reserves the right to reject posts at any time. Spam includes:

- pornography
- tag spamming
- location spamming
- repetition of phrases until posts are no longer meaningful
- reposting the same article multiple times
- embedding meaningless links within blog post

We reserve the right to expand this list of disallowed criteria at any time.
