Link Statistics

4Syndication links give you information about how your readers are navigating through your blog. With each click on your blog, basic information is gathered about where the reader came from and which pages they have visited. Equally important, many of the links from your articles to your home page or third party web sites are also tracked. The links table displays the following information:

Timestamp The time the user action took place.
Type This is the type of action taken.
URL This is the URL that the user clicked through to.
BLOG This is a visit to the blog homepage. The "referrer" value on these can often be interesting. Look for links from the major search engines to see the search terms that resulted in readers clicking through to your blog.
RSS This is a request for the blog’s RSS feed.
ITEM_BLOG This is a link to an article from the blog homepage.
ITEM_HUB This is a link to an article from the 4Syndication.com homepage.
ITEM_RSS This is a link to an article from an RSS feed.
FORWARD_TARGET This is a link from your article to your home page or a third party web site. These can also be particularly interesting since you can determine what links in your articles resulted in reader clickthroughs.
Referrer This is the information on where the action originated. The quality of this information is only as good as the browser that the reader is using. Some applications will only make the referring IP address available while other browsers will display the complete URL of the referring page.
