A blog is a single web site that you create devoted to a topic or a small set of topics. Articles posted to the blog appear in reverse chronologic order with the most recent posts at the top of the page. People who are interested in your articles can read them directly from your blog web site or by subscribing to an RSS feed. An RSS feed is a file format that web browsers (e.g. FireFox, Internet Explorer 7, Safari, and Opera) will download automatically to track changes on your blog.
Your blog account has the following components:
Title Give your blog a short and focused title. This is limited to 100 characters.
Status This is your blog's current subscription status. The options are SUBSCRIBED if you have paid for your blog through PayPal, UNSUBSCRIBED if you have not, or TRIAL PERIOD if this is your first blog and you are within the first 30 days of opening your account.
Description Describe the focus of your blog in a sentence or two. This is limited to 255 characters.
Locations Choose locations that are relevant to your blog. Picking too many locations can be considered a form of spamming so the system limits the maximum number of locations to 8. In general, if your blog does not have a specific geographic focus, you should pick the city nearest to your home office.
Industries Choose the industries that will be covered in your blog. The available industries are chosen from the DMOZ Business categories.
Distribution By default, all new blogs are set to 'B2B', meaning that they are distributed through the 4Syndication.com system, giving your blog postings maximum coverage through the RSS aggregators and search engines. Alternatively, you may want a private blog for more personal interaction between you and your readers. If you select 'BLOG' distribution, your posts will not appear in the main 4Syndication.com system and do not require an editor's approval before being activated.
Logs This area lists some of the recent activity within this blog.
