Customizing Your 4Syndication Blog in Salesforce

Step 1 – Contact Info
- Enter your contact information (some of this should be automatically filled in by Salesforce). The application will warn you of any missing fields.
- Click “Save Changes” when done and you will be redirected back to the main page.

Step 2 – Company Info
- Enter your company information (some of this should be automatically filled in by Salesforce).
- Read and agree to End User License Agreement (EULA).
- Click “Save Changes” when done and you will be redirected back to the main page.

Step 3 – Blog Details
- Click “Edit Your Blog Details.”
- Enter a brief description of your blog.
- Choose the location from the drop-down menu where your company or office is located.
- Choose an industry (or two) that is relevant to your blog.
- Click “Save Changes” when done and you will be redirected back to the main page.

Step 4 – Customize Your Blog
- Click “Advanced” to customize your blog.
1. Files
- To upload an image (logo, header, etc.), click “files”
- We want to add a header image and a Contact Us link image
- Use the file upload field to upload your header image and the “Contact Us” image
    – The header is 800 pixels wide
    – The link image is 170 pixels wide
- Select “Home” in the left column to return to the summary page

2. Modify Blog Layout
- Select “Edit Blog Layout.” A preview of your blog will appear.
- To alter colors and fonts, select the “edit” button in the top left of the preview window. Select colors using the color wheel. 
    – Background: The area outside the blog page
    – Page: The background of the blog
    – Title and Text: Text font colors
    – Link and Hover: The color of links and the color they turn when the links are moused over
    – Primary and Secondary Navigation: The two menu bars
- Choose a text Font Family from the drop-down menu
- Click “Save Changes” when done.

3. Header Image
- Click the second “edit” button down in the top left of the preview window.
- Select the image you would like to appear in the header from the drop-down menu.
- Select Page Size. 800 pixels is the default.
- Select Page Alignment. This allows the page to be centered in the browser window (the default) or align to the left or right.
- Click “Save As” when you have selected your image.

4. Modules
- The items along the left are modules. By default the Calendar, Search, Links and Archive modules are active.
- To change modules, select the “edit” button in the top right of the preview window. We will add a Contact Us live link button.
- Select the contact image in the image drop-down menu, and enter the URL to the Contact Us page of your web site.
- You may choose to remove the Links, Calendar, Search or Archive modules by clearing their check boxes.
- Click “Save Changes” when done.

5. Preview Blog
- Click “Preview Blog” at the bottom of the page. You will see what your blog looks like outside the editor window. 

Step 5 – Write Your First Post
- Click “Post Articles” to begin your first blog item.
- Enter a title, description and your main content.
- Click “Save and Upload” to preview your item. Click “Edit” to return to the previous screen and make changes. If you are happy with the item as is, click “Submit Item.”
- A 4Syndication editor will review the item, verify that it meets basic standards of business communication, and will approve the item.
- Once approved, your article will be live and visible on your blog.
